Hot Commodity

What can we say about Niki? Too much for this interview, that’s for damn sure. The girl owns her own PR firm, is a part-time stylist, writer of A Haute Mess, and is your quirky, fun, best pal? That’s the micro version in 1 sentence. We caught up with her upon her return from NYFW for SS 12 when she covered some fashion A-listers for MTV. Check out what she’s got to say.

1) How long have you been blogging for? What made you start? I’ve been blogging for just over 2 years. I started blogging because I was a fan of fashion blogs, and a dear friend and fashion blogger said, “why don’t you start your own blog?” and the idea of putting pictures of myself on the internet A. seemed like a horror movie waiting to be written, and B. was way more narcissism than I could be comfortable with. But I did it anyway! I owe so much to blogging and to A Haute Mess — it’s been a life changing experience for me and I’ve had so many interesting and fun opportunities because of it.

2) How would you describe your aesthetic? Shameless, comfortable and fun!

3) Your perfect outfit consists of? Anything I feel awesome in + a badass pair of shoes.

4) A Spring trend you can’t live without… White on white on white! Lots of colour! Neon! Prints, prints, and more prints! But if I had to choose just one, I think neon is going to be my SS12 version of the polka dot… aka a trend that I become obsessed with and wear way too much. I think this past season my blog become the place where polka dots went to die.

5) One thing on your bucket list you have to do A safari trip or an Arctic adventure. I love nature documentaries and the Planet Earth series (David Attenborough is the man) and I need to see all these amazing creatures in real life.
