We all know about the supermodels of the 70s, 80s and 90s but before then models were largely anonymous and not celebrated the way they are now. Betsy Pickering was one of the most prolific models of the 1950s and 1960s however got very little recognition in terms of fame in comparison to the models of today. Pickering was a Ford model while she was at St. Lawrence College and later chose to lead a normal life. If you’re like us, you probably imagine Betsy falling in love with a mysterious, handsome young man working in a fur shop, who later ends up working in advertising … but that’s just us.
