It’s time to double-back and take a look the pleats and frills strolling the streets this week. Pleats and frills are rocking skirts, dresses, pants, tops. Here are some of our favourite looks on the streets that we’ve scoured the web for.
No boundaries are set as far as prints go this season and the more they mismatch, the better. From floral overload to jazzed-up geometrics, head-to-toe prints were big all over the FW2011 catwalks. The old rule of wearing only one print at a time no longer applies and it’s all about a rich collage of patterns layered one upon the other. There’s a ton of fun that can be had with this craze if you’re willing to take the risk. So, consider giving this super chic pieced together look a try this Fall because sometimes, opposites really do attract.
Slits are major this fall and were seen all over the runways. While you might feel obliged to cover up as the weather cools, this fad requires a little sex appeal and a lot of leg action. Leg-baring slits entered the fashion world around the 1970s. Designers like Halston and Givenchy honored the female form by snipping a sliver of fabric, letting ladies show a little skin while still leaving a bit to the imagination. That’s kind of what designers did this fall with all the slits and slashes in their dresses and skirts. This week we’re all about a good slit, so if you got it, flaunt it! #FW2011 Runway Report
