We’re not completely out of the woods yet. Winter is not showing too many signs of letting up so our spring closet is going to have to stay on its hangers just a little bit longer. Layering is still a necessity and our friends, The Sams, are doing just that. Layering what they are wearing with coats and big scarves to keep warm, yet still stylish and trendy is a definite must for them. Giving you two ways to wear a big scarf, a little edgy by Sam P. paired with a leather jacket, and a bit more classic by Sam D. with a pea coat. Take a look at the full post on The Sams Blog, along with both outfit details!
Doesn’t it make you sad when you find out someone’s age and not only are you pleasantly surprised, but you’re pretty damn shocked and well…jealous? Well, don’t get your knickers in a knot but our #WCW this week is the beautiful Zuzanna Bijoch. Not yet 20, this beautiful chica has already been hand picked as the face of Prada, booked a few Vogue covers here and there, and probably travelled to more places for the catwalk than I’ll ever see.
I also haven’t made up my mind as to whether models are inherently born with a sense of style or they just look good in absolutely anything when they roll out of bed each day. I’m leaning towards the latter
We shot this look with the beautiful Vancouver blogger, Jill from the August Diaries just a few weeks back. There’s something about the black and white that really does it for us! She’s wearing the #Bazzul bodycon dress a few ways here and killing it. The simplicity in the lines and silhouette overlaying the Vancouver city center backdrop really makes this a clean slate.
Ya gotta love a good American-Apparel-rough-around-the-edges-kind-of-shoot. Don’t I look kind of dazed and confused like said models?
Enough of the jokes!! I finally got around to put up day 2 of How to Wear the Lustre Bad Reputation dress, seen here with Rowen from House Dylanium (GOT reference must). Anyway, loved what photographer, Mike Solda, did here with the exposure and the lighting as we continue to try new things in the spirit of the New Year. The to-die-for shoes are the Miista Debra’s and currently selling out, so get yours if you’re not a size 9…or 8…
Recap time! We took part in the BAZAAR BAZAAR BAZAAR artist pop up market that took place on Dec 14th, 2013 at the Great Hall. Again, shot this before the weather decided to drop an ice storm on Toronto this past month. If anyone knows me, it’s that the all-black-errday-look without looking super 90s goth is right up my alley lately…aka the past 2 years. When you add in a dash of vintage, a pinch of fur (duh), and sick lucite heels, we’re in business.
Shot by Mike Solda, this took place in the hallway of his apartment up by Broadview station. As an aside, I’m supposed to note his hallway doesn’t normally look this sketchy. This creepy-esque look was pretty fun to shoot. I’m wearing a vintage rabbit fur sweater here over the Lustre Bad Reputation dress (on sale), and the Miista debora boot/heel. I’d like to think I was channeling half vamp half angry Asian girl. Let me know what you think!
This edition of How To Wear was clearly shot before the huge snow storm that decided to cover Toronto.
Vanessa is wearing the sapphire Bazzul dress (currently sold out), Miista Ethel boots that looks like our inspiro Balenciaga pair, and her staple plaid blanket scarf from Zara. We love the time of day this look was shot and the blue and green hues that the dress and scarf picks up in the sky. Gotta love a simple, but chic look.
We are so excited to announce that one of our favourite Canadian fashion bloggers and good friend, Justine Iaboni, has recently re-branded her long-time blog WhateverEurotrash to Jetset Justine. This smart cookie not only works hard, but she knows just when to play hard *cough* *cough* on the Amalfi Coast *cough*.
We recently shot a project with her and Kenton fashion editor, Talya Macedo (@Talyalee) for our Shoppalu Winter cover. We’re totally feeling it. Go vintage fur or go home, right?
We don’t usually post our favourite looks from shows but this capsule from Acne is too amazing to not talk about. Tartan + neon orange hair = man repelling effectively and *swoon*. Check Vogue’s full article here.
Meet Vanessa, everyone!
She’s one of my best friends, the most well-groomed kid I know (best nails ever), a sick (yes I say sick) hip-hop dancer/choreographer in Toronto. Vanessa and I recently got together and shot this series of how to wear for one of this season’s trendiest thang, the blanket scarf. Full discretion, you must always oh-so-casually throw this guy over your shoulders at any possible moment. Anyway, she had just got this new Prada, so we were like, “what the hell”, let’s get some details right?Follow Vanessa on insta/twitter @banesssael and check out her YouTube channel here.
