We don’t usually post our favourite looks from shows but this capsule from Acne is too amazing to not talk about. Tartan + neon orange hair = man repelling effectively and *swoon*. Check Vogue’s full article here.
Meet Vanessa, everyone!
She’s one of my best friends, the most well-groomed kid I know (best nails ever), a sick (yes I say sick) hip-hop dancer/choreographer in Toronto. Vanessa and I recently got together and shot this series of how to wear for one of this season’s trendiest thang, the blanket scarf. Full discretion, you must always oh-so-casually throw this guy over your shoulders at any possible moment. Anyway, she had just got this new Prada, so we were like, “what the hell”, let’s get some details right?Follow Vanessa on insta/twitter @banesssael and check out her YouTube channel here.

Sometimes, simple things make us happy. These dalmatian booties from Lothian Brooklyn on Shoppalu does exactly that.
Personally, I’m probably the least vague person you might ever meet. I wear my emotions on my sleeve, I hate BS and absolutely….no games (incredibles reference to “no capes”…if you’ve seen it). But ya know what? Sometimes a girl’s just gotta be a little bit less direct, right? We may run the world (thanks bey!) but being coy is an art….that I struggle with. HAH.
Check out the third day of How to Wear shot by Mike Solda. The Carolina Suede jacket is styled here with a vintage leather vest and vintage leather skirt all from Shoppalu. Our motto is you can never get enough leather or black. #BlackIsTheNewBlack
Day 2 of How to Wear the Caroline Suede Jacket is here. We played with the overcast tone of the day and went a little more Fall-esque with this look. Going tone on tone is not always easy…sometimes you end up looking like you’re colour-blind and forgot your primaries all together.
In this case, we went tone on tone on… TONE and plastered it green all over with a little black for some contrast. The good thing about this look is that the shapes and the silhouettes are very classic, but we wouldn’t recommend going wider shoulder pads with too oversized of a shirt and wide-legged pants. Essentially, keep it clean and lean. This outfit is styled with a Caitlin Power shirt, Zara shoes, Graham and Spencer suede leggings and the Carolina Suede Jacket from Shoppalu. Pic shot by Mike Solda
This week’s how to wear is the first time we got a photographer (Mike) and put the selfies away. I took the vintage suede green shoppalu jacket and paired it with my bike, Heidi (yes, it’s a she and yes, she has a name), an Alexander McQueen wool dress, bag from Zara and leopard print booties from the time I raided Gracie Carroll’s closet.
The thing I love about blazers is how versatile they are…which I know is what everyone says, but it’s for real! It makes you look profesh when you need to be and able to help you dress down casually when it’s the right time. Of course, it’s always exciting to add a bike into the mix. Let us know what you think!
One of our favourite things is discovering a new line, store, model, creative work of any sort. I stumbled on the La Piscine editorial for Jacquemus and let’s just same, I’m obsessed. Check out our fav shot below and the full editorial here.
We had a lot of fun this past week styling not 1, but 2 items four ways for our first ever double whammy week. These pieces were the Bazzul Bodycon dress and the Caitlin Power Winter Cape.
Lucky for us, it was also Toronto’s World Master fashion week where the two brands showed their SS14 collections. Take a look at our four looks for each brand below.
