Black on Yellow on the Runway

Hello fashion lovers! Here comes another week of trends for this spring and summer season. Spring is full of bold colours that are bound to make a statement, however, sometimes it can feel as though we may want to tone the colour down so that we’re able to make a statement in a more subtle fashion. The way to do that this season is “Black on Yellow”. Yellow can be an overwhelming colour to wear alone, so pairing black along with it can be a nice balance. We know what you’re thinking: Bumblebee. However, if done right, this black on yellow trend will having you leaving the house chic and ready as opposed to looking like a halloween costume. Some great ways this can be done is with layering, a fabulous print, or a thin belt. Black on yellow was a hot commodity on the runways this season with designers such as Carolina Herrera, Derek Lam, and Oscar de la Renta showcasing these colours together within their collection. Take a look below at how this trend can be rocked this season.

20s on the Streets

History 101: Known as the “Roaring Twenties”, this decade was known as the time when the whole world had changed. Our world had just lived through the first ever world war and life was good again. The economic boom in the United States made this period a time of lux and wealth. High quality clothing, especially fur, became prevalent, and fashion was never the same again. The style from this decade may seem shapeless and conservative to us now, but being able to pull it off allows the most stylish of the streets to easily carry an air of je ne sais quoi.
